When is Open Studios taking place?

Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 October 2024 from 5pm-8pm. There are 12 different studios opening their doors each night - see the lineup here. Follow us on Instagram for latest news.

Who can visit?

This event is open to anyone with an interest in architecture and design. It’s an opportunity to see inside the studios that shape our city, and engage with the architects and designers who make it happen. So if you’re a school student thinking about a career in architecture, a student already studying, a creative interested in the built environment or fellow professional, pop in! Our only recommendation is that school age visitors are accompanied by an adult.

How much does it cost?

This event is free for visitors to attend.

How does it work?

Studios have been grouped on different evenings based on their location, so that visitors can easily walk between venues. We might have some outliers that would need a quick drive (or bike! we encourage alternative transport). Printed maps will be available at all studios, so that you can take one with you on your journey.

Which studios are taking part this year?

The line up of participating studios will be announced closer to the time.

Can I bring my CV?

While you’re welcome to drop off your CV at the studios, please keep in mind that the team will be very busy managing their event and hosting their visitors, and won’t be able to give you individual attention. You might find some studios will have a tray for CV applications.

Can I sign up my studio?

Applications for this year’s event are now closed, and successful applicants have been informed. If you’re an architecture studio based in Cape Town, and would like to take part next year, please get in touch and we’ll make sure you’re the first to know about next year’s event!
